SM Drafting Machine
The Bieffe SM drafting machine features smooth and effortless tracking which is accomplished by fourteen uniquely designed flat face bearing rollers strategically placed for precise vertical and horizontal movement at any board angle.
A comfortably designed palm rest and thumb release allows easy rotation of the protractor head with convenient 15° auto index settings and intermediate lockable fine line adjustment. The 360° protractor head with built-in magnifier is divided into single degrees with 5-minute double vernier permitting angular accuracy to 1/12th of a degree.
A double action hinge system allows the head and scales to be tilted vertically from the board surface for a clear working view and also allows the head to sit flat on the board compensating for any board surface irregularities.
A floating head mechanism positions the protractor above the surface to protect against accidental smearing or tearing of drawing media. An exclusive feature is the positive double shoe braking system with dual lever fingertip operation precisely controlling and locking both horizontal and vertical movement. Thus always ensuring completely straight lines. Additional features include a one-touch lever to install or dismount the vertical track, and an adjustable vertical track support roller to accommodate both varying board depths and thicknesses.
Each machine comes with a full protective dust cover large enough for both machine and drawing surface. Supplied complete with a set of scales, The SM is available for board sizes A, B, 0, C, D and E.

LM Drafting Machine
The LM Drafting Machine is a good quality, general purpose drafting machine designed for the smaller board. The LM has clamp fixing and anodised aluminium vertical and horizontal tracks. The 360° protractor head is easy to use with automatic stops every 15°, which can be circumvented to allow freewheeling of the head. There is a vertical lock and a lamp holder. 1 pair of scales is included.

Adjustable drawing board light. 24 watt fluorescent PL lamp with separate transformer. The clamp allows the lamp to fitted to any board from 15 mm to 65mm thick. At 400mm distance on a test installation we read 5000 lux diectly under the lamp. There is a good spread on light and a pleasant neutral effect.
