The Jullian Original Easel stands head and shoulders above the crowd as an Artists Sketchbox Easel and is renowned throughout the world for its stability and quality of manufacture. The Original Sketch Box easel was designed in the 1940s by a French professional artist, Roger Jullian whose nationality is the reason that this type of easel is often referred to as a "French" easel. A range of easels and accessories has been developed to meet the varying needs of the travelling artist but with a constant aim of excellence. Jullian Original Sketch Box Easel - JB45

Designed by Roger Jullian in 1945 this is the original French Sketch Box Easel renowned for its stability. The deep box has a drawer and a storage space below for all your paints, brushes and ancillary equipment. Supplied complete with carry bag, brush flannel, spares kit, and quality leather carry strap and handle. The sketch box drawer is divided into 3 easy to clean chrome metal interior, ideal for paint, tubes and drawing materials and below the drawer there are 2 deep metal lined compartments below the drawer which measure 460mm long x 100mm wide x 330mm deep which are designed for brush storage and other longer items.

Probably the best half size easel available in the world today. The easel will hold canvas or watercolour block up to 810mm high. The metal lined drawer is divided into three compartments for storing art materials and the folding palette acts as a secure lid. Unlike the full size the half size does not have a compartment under the drawer. Material drawers have the same quality construction of the Jullian French Easel drawer. Includes a finished mahogany palette and a divided chrome lined interior section. Beech Wood base. PA1 Plein Air Full Size Sketchbox Easel. We produced this easel as a lower cost version of the Jullian origianl without compromising quality. Made from ELM wood and with a linen carry strap and a drop-in metal lining the Plein Air offers all the painting qualities of the Jullian Original. Supplied with a free canvas travel bag.

The innovative sketch box drawer is metal lined with 4 adjustable sections.
There is storage under the drawer in two compartments for brushes. Fittings are best quality brass or brass-plated. Mahogany palette 300mm x 406mm. Linen shoulder straps and a de-luxe leather handle.
Plastic anti-slip feet are moulded on to prevent loss. For canvasses or boards from 25mm to 870mm high.

Rexy Watercolour easel - JB20 - Dual Position

The Rexy was conceived by Roger Jullian in the late fifties as a Field Easel which would have the features of the French Easel but could be used for water colour or oil painting. Discontinued for a while, we have now re-introduced it to meet the demand for a stable watercolour easel which can double as a lightweight easel for oils.
A useful accessory for watercolour painters is the plywood art board available in two sizes..

The easel offers a full range of adjustment in both height and angle. It can be used either in the horizontal position or in the vertical position. The easel is supplied with a strong carry bag which has a substantial pocket for the Rexy Paint Box (see below) or water colour blocks etc.

A Rexy clip-on detachable paint box which attaches to the legs. (Not suitable for other easels.
