The full height paper clamp on the left hand side is marked in centimentres and opens and closes with the sliding dark grey bar
Bottom clamp on the right hand side clamps the paper

Finger tip lock secures the ruler in position
The drafting head rotates freely to 60 degrees above the horizontal and to 90 degrees below the horizontal and is locked into position
Alternatively the ruler moves in 15 degree click stops for fast angle finding (15º, 30º, 45º and 60º above horizontal and 15º, 30º, 45º, 60º, 75º, and 90º below the horizontal
Drafting head may be tightened or loosened for optimal use
Magnetic ruler strips may be set to line up with your drawing
